Monring:

This morning I went to hallmark.com to send a e-card. When I got there I saw a photo that looked really really similar to one I saw on here. Now, I'm not saying people are posting photos that are not there's or stealing them (I would hate to jump to that conclusion) but as I've seen discussions on this blog before about people "stealing" or using photos without permission, I just thought I'd bring this up to see what any of your thoughts were.

The photo that was listed as the photo of the day yesterday by malakh is the very same photo that is winning as a personal submission of someone on hallmark that is encouraging people the "buy" the card from hallmark.
Please Look for yourself:

There are lots of pics in that blog that are movie posters, ad images and so on. Maybe all of them. I doubt that the blogger intends to pretend they are his pictures, but I can't know for sure without a translation of the captions. More like he's writing a blog about something, and using images for illustration. I think it is more of a miscommunication, but he should post a link to the original and a photocredit.

Julia thanks for the comments, I didnt realize that and didnt want to think he was trying to say they were his shots, but appreciate your comment. A link would be helpful. Thanks again, kudos on your work!

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Hallmark would just LOVE to hear about someone reposting their image and photoblog emailing it to everyone who's subscribed to their featured image (or whatever it's called) service.

the bigger joke about all this is that this pic made photoblog frontpage just a while ago (2-3 days?)... so obviously, not even the mike's are aware that it's a common picture taken from the web.

i love this!

let's please, please pretty please all start discussing stolen pictures and all the spicy copyright issues we have here in our TOS-ridiculed, censored but otherwise very open minded global community!

Is the front page photo actually picked by humans? or by machine?
