It's Not Easy Being Green

2008.08.12

I've photographed a spider like this before, and used it in a previous post. It may even be the same spider for all I know. Last time it was on my parsley, but this time the color of the marigold really sets off the green. I love its color.

After Googling a bit, I now know it's a green lynx spider. Turns out this spider can jump. I'm glad it decided not to jump on me! The article also says that females can change colors to match their environment. That might explain why the one in my first post was a much brighter green than this one.

KerBear Very cool!! So pretty against the orange.... and it almost looks like it couldn't been posing the way its legs wrap around the petals! Beautiful shot!!...

Hahaha I read the above comment and wondering... if you squished it... would it be a green splat??
