This morning we managed to find someone to come out to look at the well pump. Turns out that it wasn't the pump at all - it was merely a blown circuit breaker. We knew it had tripped the breaker, but did not realize it would blow it completely.
We had mentally prepared ourselves to be shelling out $1,200 for a new pump. Instead, we paid $130 to the repair people, and $9 for the new circuit breaker. Kevin installed it himself.
Rather than be upset at paying $130 for a $9 repair, we're actually thankful for a couple of things. The repair people were honest, didn't charge the time and a half weekend fee, and we now know who to call if we need them.
