Greetings from Austin TX.
I started a Project 365+1 on 2008-01-01 inspired by an article at photojojo. Some days the photo is mostly representative of the day and others are an attempt to make something interesting to look at. The best days will combine the two.
EquipmentI have several cameras, all of which are capable of taking better pictures than I can:
- Pentax K100D DSLR with DA 18-55mm kit lens, DA 50-200mm, and couple of old manual focus lenses.
- Canon A590IS. I think the Canon A series are great, reasonable size, AA batts, great pics, easy to use. I used to have several models with that swivel LCD which I now need reading glasses to see (argh). So..moving on to IS instead.
- Canon A720IS (belongs to wife). I bought her this camera for Christmas. I am hoping she gets tired of it soon.
- Olympus D520Z. "Don't care" camera for high impact situations, nuclear reactors, third world countries, and raves.
- A lot of AA batts. All our cameras use AA, on purpose.
- Craftsman tripod, from Sears. Seriously.
- Some homemade monopods, lights, and reflectors.
- Working on homemade remote shutter release.
- Corel Photopaint X3. I've tried PS several times and can't get my head pointed in the right direction.
- The Gimp, at times.
- CAM2PC, for general organization and uploading, rotating, resizing. (Handy tip: resize your photoblog pics to 760 pixels wide x whatever length for faster uploads.)
- Check me out at my other bloggy thing for more BS and links to other photos.
